Our Commitment to Children
Golfkid Rules is designed for children. We are committed to protecting their privacy and complying with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) for US users.
1. Information We Collect
Information Provided by Users
- First name or nickname: to personalize the gaming experience
- Selected avatar: chosen from our predefined options
- Email (optional): only if a permanent account is created
Automatically Collected Information
- Game progress: completed lessons, quiz scores
- Game statistics: XP earned, level reached
- Anonymous analytics data: to improve the app (disabled for children without parental consent)
2. Children's Protection (COPPA)
For users under 13 years old in the United States:
- We require verifiable parental consent before collecting personal data
- Analytics data is disabled by default
- Children cannot participate in leaderboards without parental consent
- Parents can review, modify, or delete their child's data at any time
3. Use of Data
We use collected data to:
- Save player progress
- Personalize the learning experience
- Display leaderboards (with consent)
- Improve our app (anonymized data)
4. Data Sharing
We never sell your data.
Data is securely stored on Firebase (Google Cloud) and is not shared with any third parties for advertising purposes.
The leaderboard only displays first name/nickname and score, visible to other players who have given their consent.
5. Data Security
- Data encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
- Secure storage on Google Cloud infrastructure
- Limited access to personal data
6. Your Rights
You can at any time:
- Access your data in the app settings
- Modify your profile and preferences
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Withdraw your consent for the leaderboard
7. Data Retention
Data is retained as long as the account is active. When an account is deleted, all data is erased from our servers within 30 days.
8. Changes to This Policy
We will notify you of any significant changes to this policy through an in-app notification.
